In this module, we will explore the beginnings of human society and the formation of the earliest civilizations.

In this module, we will explore the geography, cities, and religion of the civilizations and empires in the Fertile Crescent.

Moving our attention to the Mediterranean region, we will explore the cultural and historical impact of the ancient Phoenicians and the ancient Israelites.
|
Turning our direction south, we will explore the cultural achievements and religious beliefs of the ancient Egyptians and Nubians. Further, we will look closely at the geography of the Nile River as we seek to understand the reasons why ancient Egypt was able to flourish as it did.

It's time to direct our attention east to explore the vast contributions of the ancient Indians.

We will continue our exploration of the ancient world in the east by studying the ancient Chinese dynasties and their lasting cultural and religious contributions.

Midterm examination that assesses your mastery of Modules 1 through 6.

For the remainder of the year, we will begin our study of the start of Western civilization, beginning with ancient Greece.
|
We will take a close look at the two dominant city-states in Greece, their inevitable conflict, and the rise of the great Macedonian Empire.
|
Finally, we will turn our attention to ancient Rome and explore their achievements and lasting legacy. As part of our study, we will explore the birth of Christianity.
