About the Course

Welcome to the United States History course! Start here to access some important information.

Module 1: The Road to Revolution

In this module, we will explore how the effects of the French and Indian War led to the American colonists' dissatisfaction with Britain.

Module 2: From Protest to Rebellion

As the American colonists' resentment towards Britain grows, so do their acts of protest.

Module 3-4: A Nation Declares Independence

America declares independence from Britain.

Module 5: Creating the Constitution

We will learn about the Articles of Confederation, the United States of America's first attempt at forming a federal government.

Module 6: The New Constitution

We will explore the events and aftermath of the Constitutional Convention that led to the creation of the Constitution and the subsequent Bill of Rights.

Module 7: Launching a New Nation

In this module, we will explore the achievements and legacies of the first two U.S. presidents, George Washington and John Adams.

Module 8: The Era of Jefferson

The historic presidency of Thomas Jefferson begins, the first non-Federalist lead executive of the United States.

Module 9: A Changing Nation

The United States reflects on how to respond to foreign affairs and what role it ought to play on a global stage.

Midterm examination that assesses your mastery of Modules 7 through 9.

Module 11: The North and South Take Different Paths

Growing fissures become increasingly evident, as the northern and southern states start developing incongruous identities.

In this module, we will investigate the "manifest destiny" phenomenon that swept up the nation in a frenzy to travel west.

The American way of life gets further developed as Americans engage in reform movements and develop a new style of arts and literature.

In this module, we will compare different Reconstruction plans laid out to reckon with the former Confederacy and instate new freedoms to former African American slaves.
